Reef: how to read the Saudi house's catalogue
By Atyab
Reef is a Saudi house whose catalog can be confusing at first: numbered, nameless perfumes, overlapping lines, and sizes ranging from 15 to 200 ml. Once the logic is understood, everything becomes clear.
The House Philosophy
Reef offers niche-style compositions at an accessible price point, working with European perfumers and offering each signature scent in various sizes. The trade-off for this positioning: little storytelling, but many references.
The Five Lines
1. The Numbered Line
The heart of the catalog. Three to four raw materials per composition, immediate readability, and no frills. These are the best entry points.
Examples: Reef 19 (lily of the valley, jasmine, white musk), Reef 21 (red fruits, cedar, patchouli), Reef 33 (saffron, rosemary, oud).
2. The Arabs Line
A tribute to the places and traditions of the Kingdom, featuring woody and leathery accords. This is the most "oriental" line in the strict sense.
Examples: Arabs of AlUla, Obaiah Arabs, Tuwaiq, Diriyah.
3. The Pure Line
Lighter, large-format scents built around a simple idea indicated by the name.
Examples: Pure Musk, Pure Flower, Pure Fruity.
4. The Summer Line
Solar and fruity compositions designed for daytime and the warm season, available in 100 and 200 ml.
Examples: Summer Pink, Summer Yellow, Summer Tiffany.
5. The Niche Line
The house's most concentrated compositions, in small sizes. This is where Reef takes the most risks.
Examples: Niche 1 (saffron, caramel, leather), Niche 2 (marine notes, caramel, leather), Niche 4.
Where to start?
If you are discovering the house, pick a numbered perfume in a family you already enjoy. If you are looking for a more pronounced oriental touch, head to the Arabs line. If you want an everyday perfume with the best value for money, look at the large formats of the Pure and Summer lines. References currently on sale are grouped on the On Sale page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the numbers have a meaning?
They are internal references, not a hierarchy: Reef 33 is not "superior" to Reef 19.
Are the 15 ml formats the same juice?
Yes. They are the same compositions, in a reduced size — useful for testing before buying the large bottles.
Where can I see the entire catalog?
On the Reef collection page, which gathers all of our references from the house.
