15, 50, 100, or 200 ml: which perfume size should you choose?
By Atyab
Gulf perfumery offers bottle sizes unknown in Europe, where 100 ml is generally considered the upper limit. Knowing which size to choose changes both the budget and the usage.
How long does a bottle last?
One spray represents approximately 0.1 ml. For two sprays per day:
| Size | Number of sprays | Indicative duration |
|---|---|---|
| 15 ml | ~150 | 2 to 3 months |
| 50 ml | ~500 | 8 months |
| 75 ml | ~750 | 1 year |
| 100 ml | ~1,000 | 1.5 years |
| 150 ml | ~1,500 | 2 years |
| 200 ml | ~2,000 | 2.5 years |
These durations assume daily use of a single fragrance. If you rotate between three, multiply by three.
Which size for which use
15 ml — for testing
The ideal size to discover a family you are not familiar with, or to take on your travels. It is the same juice as the large bottle, with no commitment.
50 to 75 ml — for a secondary signature
The right compromise when you like a fragrance but it isn't your daily scent: a fragrance for the evening, or a seasonal scent.
100 ml — the standard size
The standard. Enough for regular use, compact enough to not be cumbersome. It is the size of the majority of our catalog.
150 and 200 ml — for daily use
The best value for money, and an exclusive offering from Gulf perfumery. Reserve this for signatures you are certain about: two and a half years is a long time if you get tired of the scent.

The strategy that works
- Test an unfamiliar family in a small size.
- Switch to 100 ml once the signature is confirmed.
- Reserve the large format for the two or three perfumes you truly wear every day.
Pay attention to storage
A large format is used over several years: this is precisely where storage matters. A bottle exposed to light or heat loses its lasting power before it is finished. See our article on storing your perfumes.
Frequently asked questions
Is the small size less concentrated?
No, it is exactly the same composition. Only the volume changes.
Is a 200 ml bottle allowed on a plane?
Not in carry-on luggage, where the limit is 100 ml per container. In checked luggage, yes.
Why are large formats rare in Europe?
Market habits, mostly. Gulf perfumery views perfume as a daily commodity, not a rationed luxury product.
